| During the takeover by
Heidelberg of the former EAC business in August 1998,MR . Hartmut
Mehdorn , Chairman of Heidelberg Management Board stated ,"We will
increase our company's presence on the most inportant important
markets of the future for print systems. From the Asian markets in
particular we are expecting
considerable market growth for our products in the coming years ,
Heidelberg considers Asia , and particularly china , one of the most
potential markets in the world .We therefore wish to make
substantial measures to strengthen the support to the customers in
the market ".
To further strengthen the customer
support in China ,the Management Board has decided to integrate all
activities in China within one Sales and Services Unit , Heidelberg
China . This includes the former Hong Kong , South China and North
china markets . with effect from April 1, 1999,Mr .Chan Seng Lee has
been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Heidelberg China ,
As part of the management team of Heidelberg China , Mr .Rene
Ludvigsen assumes the role of Managing Director for Sales . They
will team up to ensure the full support of benefits to customers as
a result of the streamlining and integration process of operations
in the North and South China .

Also,in this
connection , Mr .Bo Frank Nielsen ,who has been responsible
for the South China and Hong Kong's graphic arts markets ,is
taking over the function of Regional Marketing Director
,Heidelberg Asia Pacific .His new role will focus on planning
and development of strategic marketing activities for the
region as well as special projects in China . Mr.Nielsen will
remain in Hong Kong in a newly established Heidelberg Asian
Pacific regional office . He will work closely with different
Sales and Services Units like Heidelberg China , Heidelberg
Japan , Heidelberg Australia etc . with an emphasis on
Marketing .
Mr . Chan Seng Lee comes to
Heidelberg China from Malaysia where he has been responsible
for the Heidelberg business in Malaysia and singapore . Mr .
chan has worked in the graphics industry for more than 30
years . |
Mr.Ludvigsen has been in China for more
than 8 years and for the last 3 years has been responsible for the
Heidelberg business in North China .
The integration of business
operations in the North and South China to form'one China 'concept
is a natural development of the company in response to the dynamic
changes in the China market and the intent is to better serve
customers with the ultimate goal being meeting total customers'
satisfaction. " The cohesion into one Heidelberg China operation
mirrors Heidelberg's confidence in the solid economic fundamentals
of China . It is Heidelberg's long-term strategic commitment to play
a key role in influencing the transformation of the printing and
graphic arts industry through providing leading edge technology ,
consistent quality services ,education and training with our goal to
satisfy customers' satisfaction . We'll undertake a series of
